Update On Ammunition Availability
Why is it hard to find certain calibers in stock?
The shortage of ammunition is real and is caused by several factors including:
1. A significant spike in consumer demand
2. Inability for our vendors to keep us supplied because of:
a) Law Enforcement demand for training and readiness
b) Department of Defense demand for training and readiness
c) Higher prices from commodities
What calibers are in the highest demand?
Many handgun calibers such as .380, 9mm, .38 Spl, .357 Mag and .45 Auto continue to be in short supply relative to the continued high demand for those calibers. The same can be said for tactical or surplus centerfire rifle calibers and for any rimfire ammunition. The high demand for ammunition has also severely impacted the availability of all reloading components including powder and primers.
What are manufacturers doing to keep up with demand?
In order to help keep up with demand for ammunition, manufacturers are working at full capacity (24/7). As well, we are working each day on sourcing any ammunition that we can obtain in order to get product to our customers.
How long will it take for supply to catch up with demand?
While it is believed that supply will be increasing, the great unknown is how strong consumer demand will remain at these current, unprecedented levels.
